Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles Announces Leadership Transition

Ms Dianne Connolly, Consultant for the Connecticut based Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles recently announced the Foundation’s commitment to hiring a full time Executive Director to lead the Foundation in coming years.  Ms Connolly has consulted the Foundation since early in 2006 and is enthusiastic about the growth and changes the Foundation has experienced.

“Our goal has been to build the Foundation’s infrastructure,” Ms Connolly states.  “It has been incredibly rewarding for me to work with our Board, our donors and our internal team to move the Foundation forward.  Our next step is signaled by the hiring of a local and full time Executive Director who will begin building our public profile and our donor base to better achieve our goals and serve our community.”

Over the past three years and under Ms Connolly’s direction, the Foundation has increased the size and level of engagement of its Board of Directors and has revamped its financial reporting structure to be more efficient and transparent.  The Foundation’s programs and services, including workshops for area middle and high school science students as well as orthopaedic clinical trials and research studies have increased in number and range of participants.     “I am especially pleased with having achieved recognition for our Fellowship by the Arthroscopy Association of North America.  We are now engaged in seeking certification by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education which will further highlight the research and education work we are doing!”

The Foundation will seek a locally based Executive Director to move the organization to the next level.  “I’m extremely excited about our future!” Ms Connolly notes.  “The pieces are in place, the infrastructure is sustainable, and the Foundation is now poised to become more visible.  We have great programs that benefit a wide range of individuals so the time is exactly right for more local visibility, participation and support!”

The Orthopaedic Foundation for Active Lifestyles is a 501 C 3 non-profit Foundation whose Mission is research and education in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal diseases and arthritis.
